Biblical Counseling

Biblical counseling is very much different than psychological counseling. Psychological counseling depends on human tradition, humanistic philsophies, and the basic principles and theories of this world. While that may seem normal and proper, it's usually not the right answer to the multifaceted problems that Christians face today. Biblical counselors rely on the wisdom of God as it is revealed through His Word. We believe that God "has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness," (2 Peter 1:5).

The Process

You will meet with one of our certified Biblical counselors usually once a week, for 6 to 8 weeks, about 1 hour for each session. Your counselor will be eager to listen to the problems you face, and then will direct you to the answers in Scripture. You can expect homework which varies based on the issue at hand. You may be given challenging action items, but understand that these are many times necessary to bring the resolution you are desperately seeking. Most of the time, our counselors work as a team, with the leader driving the engagement while others observe and add input as prompted by the Holy Spirit.
